Critter Up Close at Small Friends Childcare

Today, we had a special visit from Critter Up Close — and what an exciting day it was! The children had the wonderful opportunity to interact with a variety of friendly farm animals. From a gentle dog and fluffy chickens to curious guinea pigs, the kids were absolutely delighted. They loved getting up close, feeding, patting, and learning all about the animals’ habits and care. It was not only a fun hands-on experience, but also a great way to nurture empathy and curiosity about the natural world. We all had a fantastic time — thank you to Critter Up Close for bringing the farm to us!

R U OK? Day

Today at Small Friends, we embraced the spirit of R U OK? Day by coming together in a cheerful sea of yellow—the colour of connection and support. The children celebrated by decorating and sharing delicious homemade cupcakes with their families, spreading kindness one sweet treat at a time. It was a wonderful opportunity to open up conversations about caring for ourselves and others, and to remind everyone that a simple question—“Are you OK?”—can make a big difference.
